Elements of Shangrao’s water culture, dragon culture and building facade are integrated into the nightscape lighting design of Wuyue Plaza. With curtain wall facade as the carrier, points, streamlines, light and shadow in different combination forms the enjoyable lighting, which makes up Jiangnan scenery of three rivers flowing together and Shangrao wandering in flowers.
Continue readingLittle Kong is a series of ambient lamps that contains oriental philosophy. Oriental aesthetics pays great attention to the relationship between virtual and actual, full and empty. Hiding the LEDs subtly into the metal pole not only ensures the empty and purity of the lampshade but also distinguishes Kong from other lamps. Designers found out the feasible craft after more than 30 times experiments to present the light and various texture perfectly, which enables amazing lighting experience. The base supports wireless charging and has a USB port. It can be turned on or off just by waving hands.
Continue readingIt is a combination of traditional hand-made eggshell porcelain and modern voice control light. It is an attempt to revive the folk arts that may not conform to the functions and aesthetics of contemporary society. The housing is ergonomic with a tapered design which is not only curved back to fit nicely in your hand, but also not easy to be knocked over. The point-line-surface carved texture like a shining night sky in the light. It can also have your hands free for the voice control function.
Continue readingThe signature entrance iron door holds exhibit cases and the concept was the lighting to be part of the structure. The lighting of the interior is also discreet and achieved with adjustable spots in recessed tracks between the ceiling wooden beams, so as not to interfere with the general aesthetics, but to provide lighting adaptability. The aluminum foam shelves with their shimmering glow are given more emphasis with a dramatic effect of the cove lighting in cool white. The desired atmosphere was completed by tiny recessed track spotlights in the shelves, to highlight the artifacts.
Continue readingThis Tianjin Vanke Plaza Jiuong Road is located in the Hexi district of Tianjin, China on the North of the People's Park and Southeast of the Five Avenue historical district. Its surrounding includes government offices, residential compounds and the Tianjin Foreign Studies University. New copper panels and glass curtain wall allowing natural light and visibility in and out of the shopping mall complement the white panels of the facade which in a way still refer the local Century Mart supermarket prior to its renovation.

Local cultural elements welcome guests throughout the hotel (Sichuan opera, book cabinets, tea culture, spicy food, architecture...). The lighting design is not only functional, but also focuses on these cultural elements as to make guests feel comfortable in this glocal hotel.
